The PEAK Team Goes Red!

Did you know that the month of February is American Heart Month? American Heart Month was created as a way to remind Americans the importance of focusing on the health of their heart. Chances are we all know someone affected by heart disease and stroke, because about 2,200 Americans die of cardiovascular disease EACH DAY. That’s an average of one death every forty seconds. Hearing those statistics the PEAK Team feels it is important to encourage our families, friends and communities to get involved by raising funds and awareness for the American Heart Association.

Every year the PEAK Team hosts a heart healthy breakfast in the month of February for the agents in our office. We provide heart healthy options such has fresh fruit, granola bars, oatmeal and yogurt. Last Friday we invited everyone from Keller Williams Capital District to enjoy a heart healthy breakfast on us in honor of American Heart Month!

The purpose of the breakfast was not only to enjoy a healthy, delicious meal, but to get people thinking about the health of their hearts. The American Heart Association says you are never too young or too old to take care of your heart and that is so true! Eating healthy, exercising, and avoiding unhealthy habits such as smoking can help prevent heart disease. This article written by the American Heart Association does an excellent job discussing prevention for each individual age group – read it because it could just save your life!  Another way to save a life is knowing the warnings signs and symptoms of heart failure. Here is an excellent short video educating people on what to be on the look out for, watch below:

So please help us GO RED! Join us in raising awareness and funding the fight against cardiovascular disease and stroke by making a donation. By doing so you help support educational programs to increase awareness and critical research to discover scientific knowledge about cardiovascular health. The PEAK Team will be collecting donations all month long – no donation is too small. If you’d like to make a donation email Leah at Check out some pictures below from the breakfast!
